Why DECA? DECA is more than a Business and Marketing Club, DECA helps students realize their interests and helps students set goals for their future. Through activities, learning of skills and competitive events students research and learn about their own interests as well as making connections to other club members. Making real world connections to businesses and learn how to be successful. We hope that you join us and Grow with Maryland DECA and take your Dreams to "Get the Edge".

Business Mixer - June 11th, 2023

Membership Ready

 Before you officially register, please make sure to complete the tasks listed on our Membership Center Page.. Once you have met all the chapter starting requirements, please fill out the New Maryland DECA Chapter Interest Form.

All new Maryland Chapters are required to fill out this chapter interest form and participate in an onboarding call with our state officers. We will reach out to you with more information once we receive your application.

Experiences

Competitions are at the center of DECA. Along with all of the learning that takes place, you can compete Regionally, State Wide and Internationally! You get the opportunity to meet people from all over and create new and lasting friendships. Along with bonding with your own club, the experience is second to none. And to get up on the stage at ICDC to accept your "DECA Glass", is something you will remember forever! Learn Who We Are

Ted Thompson has been in the education sector for 21 years and has a record of accomplishments in positions ranging from teacher to school district administrator. Ted is committed to urban districts and continues to research trends to understand leadership actions and system behavior to support growth in student achievement.

Maryland DECA Board President

Kim Gustin, State Charter Advisor. She has a BS degree in Operations Management and M.Ed. degree in Educational Multimedia from California Polytechnic University Pomona. She has been in education for 21 years and currently teaches Computer Science at Richard Montgomery High School.

State Charter Advisor

 Viveka Sinha is a rising senior at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring MD. She was previously the 22-23 VP of Chapter Development.

She is interested in continuing that work by reaching out to grow Maryland DECA for this term.

Maryland DECA is a Charted High School Association of National DECA. We do not have affiliation with any Maryland Collegiate individuals or chapters. Any Maryland University or College who wishes to be associated with DECA will need to apply to National DECA for an independent chapter. Please contact National DECA for further information.
