The Business Mixer is BACK for 2023! Please register for this event on Sunday June 11th, 2023. The event will be held at Churchill High School Cafeteria beginning at 2:00 pm through 3:30 pm. We will welcome business people throughout the area to speak with you about their careers and career paths and how that can translate into your experience with DECA. Current members and those thinking about becoming members or starting their own DECA club are welcome to join us. Please register here to reserve your space. Best part is that admission is FREE!

The 2023 Emerging Leader Series Conference is being held in our backyard this summer. Happening in Tysons Corner on July 7-9th if you are a new or returning DECA Chapter Officer, consider attending this event. Check out the Registration Guide, and consider going to this once in a lifetime opportunity. Registration closes on June 8th, so act quickly if you are interested. You would register for the "Elevate" Series Activities.

DECA Night with DC United
DC United will be back for 23-24! We are currently planning on scheduling another opportunity to watch a match in late September or early October of 2023! So if you love soccer, or even if you don't, you want to make sure you join this activity to listen to a panel of front office personnel about the Sports Entertainment Market and take in a game. Competition Dress Code

With competitions coming up soon, it's time to start thinking about what you will wear to your competitions. Professional dress is required for all events. And a DECA blazer or navy/black blazer will work for Regionals, but come States and ICDC, only a DECA blazer will do for being in front of a judge. Power Trip 2022 in Washington D.C. was an amazing experience. Clubs from Oakland Mills HS, Reservoir HS, Montgomery Blair HS, and Richard Montgomery HS were able to attend this once in a lifetime experience in our Nations Capital. They got to experience many different breakout sessions and participate in a Role Play.
Reservoir HS Senior, Ogo Taiwo won a medal for the Role Play, scoring a 100%. Congratulations to her and her achievement. The event included hundreds of DECA members competing in the role play activity. Next year, Power Trip takes us to Austin Texas November 17-19, 2023. All four regions will be represented next year.
Washington Commanders Business Day 2022 was held on a rainy October 13th, 2022 at FedEx Field in Landover MD. Over 1000 people from Maryland and Virginia DECA attended this one day activity that gave members the opportunity to explore the facility and hear from a few Washington Commanders Executives.
This was a great opportunity to learn about Sports and Entertainment Marketing and also tour a Professional Football facility. Members got a behind the scenes look at the locker rooms, training areas and explored the football field! The rain could not dampen the spirits of all who attended and we look forward to attending next year!

DECA members are invited to participate in the DECA Stock Market Game (SMG). Stock Market closes on Friday, December 9th!
Participants in the DECA SMG test their investment knowledge and skills against other DECA members by managing a diversified portfolio of stocks, mutual funds, bonds and cash. Students can access their investment portfolios via a web browser on any device or on The Stock Market Game mobile app (by the SIFMA Foundation) available on Android or Apple. Congratulations to Blair DECA for winning the 2022 Pumpkin Decorating Contest! Blair DECA will be awarded $25 to their club for their very cool creation that not only represents DECA, but also their club by incorporating the school mascot.

SCDC Registration will open on December 30th, 2022 and close on February 8th, 2023. This time frame will give your club time to get organized and register. But don't delay, as there are a limited amount of spots available and it is first come, first served. Also, only three participants for individual and team events per event and two groups/individuals per written/professional selling event per club. Set your Calendar for Friday, February 24th, 2023 at the Delta Marriott in Hunt Valley. Registration information is now posted!

April 22-25th, 2023 in Orlando Florida. Maryland DECA will be staying at the TRU Hotel by Hilton for the event. Members are only allowed to register through National DECA and MUST qualify for their event at SCDC in order to attend ICDC. Registration guide is now available via DECA Inc Website. Maryland DECA information will be available here by December 30th, 2022. More information will be coming soon!
